A Night at The Horses or A Night at The Dogs  - It's Up To You!

Here at LDJ Events we are able to offer Fun Race Night Services in and around the county of Shropshire. 

Race Nights have been an excellent choice of fundraising for years and are also a great choice of entertainment for other types of events. 

What's Included?

- Up to 8 Races (Horses, Dogs or Mixture of Races)

- Projector and 90" Projection Screen

- PA System 

- Presenter / Host and 'tote manager / bookie' for the night. 

- All Betting Literature, Tote Tickets and Race Cards  

How does it work? 

Each race has 8 runners.

Guests place a bet (£1 or £2 per horse, it's up to you to decide the fixed bet price for the evening) with our bookie. 

The total tote is split 2 ways; 50% to the charity of your choice, the other 50% is the winner's funds. This fund will be split between the total number of winners for each race. 

For example; 100 guests betting on one runner each at £2 brings the total tote to £200. £100 is given to the charity, £100 is put aside for the winners. If runner number 1 wins and 10 people have bet on this runner - £100 divided by 10 people means they each win £10. 


All of our Races only refer to the runner by their number 1-8. This means that if you are fundraising for a particular charity or have a particular theme for the evening, we are able to name the horses based around this but please do allow plenty of notice if you would like us to do this. 

How much money can we raise? 

Before the racing starts, you can start raising money for your chosen good cause by charging a small entrance fee.

Based on 100 people at your event... 
100 bets at £1 = £100 per race. 
- 50% Winner's Fund = £50
£50 x 8 races = £400 raised for the charity of your choice. 
Based on 100 people at your event... 
100 bets at £2 = £200 per race. 
- 50% Winner's Fund = £100 
£100 x 8 races = £800 raised for the charity of your choice. 

Not wanting a race night for charity?  Just for Fun?

That's fine. We can run Fun Race Nights for any occasion. This works in exactly the same way except rather than the total tote being split with a charity, all money taken via the tote is used as the prize fund for each race. 

The Legal Stuff... 

Any guests wishing to place a bet must be ages 18 or over. Please do not be offended if asked to produce photographic ID. 

Race Nights are covered by The Gambling Commission Act, which clearly states that you cannot hold the race night for personal gain; all monies raised must be given to a worthwhile cause e.g. charity, school, football team, sick child etc. The list is endless!

We cannot provide the odds for each horse. Bets are placed purely based on names which are randomly selected and Races are randomly selected.
